Terri Gorney Lehman
SECRETARY & PROGRAM CHAIR
Terri Gorney Lehman is an Indiana University grad and Fort Wayne native. She became enthralled with birds while volunteering at Pokagon State Park and transcribing Maurice McClue's Nature Memorandum 1919-1957. McClue mentioned a woman named Jane Brooks Hine (1831-1916). Terri was able to locate descendants of hers and transcribed her birding journals. Since 2010, she has taught an Indiana Master Naturalist class as Jane. Terri is secretary for Three Rivers Birding, an IMN 2014 from Fort Benjamin Harrison SP, president of the Society of Indiana Pioneers, secretary of the Friends of the Limberlost and writes a quarterly Birds' Eye View column for Discover Ouabache. She enjoys birding at Limberlost with her husband Randy Lehman.

Lisa Silvey
TREASURER
Lisa Silvey recently retired from Lincoln Financial Corporation after many years, working primarily as a Project Manager and Senior Business Analyst. In the past, she served on the board of Soarin' Hawk Raptor Rehabilitation for several years in various positions which included President and Treasurer. Lisa and her husband, John Winebrenner, have been birders for many years and enjoy traveling throughout the country birding, hiking, camping and enjoying all that nature has to offer. As a Three Rivers Birding board member, I hope to help grow the membership in the chapter and encourage young people to explore nature and enjoy the great outdoors.

Clara Conroy
DIRECTOR & NEWSLETTER EDITOR
Clara Conroy has been observing and learning about birds ever since she was a young girl growing up in Louisville, KY. She is an Indiana Master Naturalist graduate, past Board of Director for Fox Island Alliance (2021-2024) and volunteered at the wildlife/bird viewing building at Fox Island County Park. Clara works full time for a printer/publisher company, but in her free time she enjoys photographing native flowers, birds and other wildlife while on long hikes or in her native plants garden. She hopes that sharing the joy and thrill of birding with everyone she meets along the way who ask “What are you looking at?” creates a spark for the love of everything avian.
-
Cynthia Powers
DIRECTOR
As a long time board member and past president, Cynthia hopes to contribute some institutional memory to the chapter. Cynthia majored in zoology at Oberlin College, and was a medical technologist at Lutheran Hospital Laboratory for 31 years. She completed the Indiana Master Naturalist course in 2007 and now helps teach the bird class for the Fox Island IMN course, with her husband Ed. They have also participated in Project FeederWatch since its inception. In 2015 Cynthia established the new Southwest Allen Christmas Bird Count, serving as its compiler. She also added the Big Sit to our fall schedule. Ed and Cynthia have two children, a musician and a zookeeper, and twin grandchildren. What the world needs is more birdwatchers!

John Winebrenner
DIRECTOR
John Winebrenner’s professional background has been in the fields of electronics repair and data communications. John has previously served as a Director on the boards of both Stockbridge Audubon Society and Soarin' Hawk Raptor Rehabilitation. His interest in birding started way back in 1986, when he attended a naturalist-led bird hike at Turkey Run State Park. With his wife, Lisa Silvey, he enjoys birding, camping, and traveling throughout the country, visiting as many National Parks as they can. On Stockbridge field trips, John enjoys meeting beginner birders, and sharing his knowledge with them, just as more experienced birders helped him as he was starting out.
-
Trenton Buis
DIRECTOR
Trenton Buis first started birding in 2021 and is a Casey County, Kentucky native. Trenton’s desire is to promote ethical birding and help new birders learn and enjoy the bird species that Northeast Indiana has to offer! Along with bird photography, he enjoys the thrill of finding uncommon birds and also seeing other birders being ecstatic about finding them as well. Trenton has been the compiler for the Patoka Lake Christmas Bird Count since 2023.
